Figge Art Museum offers a year-round schedule of hands-on educational
opportunities. For more information about any of the classes or workshops
listed below, please call the FAM Education Department at (563) 326-7895,
Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Pre-registration
is required for all classes and workshops. The registration deadline
is 5 business days before each class is to begin. If you do not register
for class(es) you wish to take before the deadline, your class may be
cancelled due to low enrollment. To obtain a registration form, please

Figge Art Museum classes will be taught in the former Davenport Museum of Art building, located at 1737 W. 12th Street. All adult classes are also open to high school
students, ages 16 and older. Friends of the Figge Art Museum receive a discount.

ACRYLIC PAINTING

INTRODUCTION TO CERAMICS
Learn basic handbuilding techniques while developing ideas to create both functional and sculptural work. The instructor will present a demo at the beginning of each class. Open to students, ages 16 and older. Choose from two sessions.

COIL, OIL AND FOIL
Using air-dry clay, construct a coil pot and learn about pottery from different cultures. Draw colorful oil pastel landscapes in the tradition of Grant Wood and Paul Gauguin. Learn patterning and relief techniques to create a metal tooling foil mask, inspired by masks from different countries.

What will the Quad-Cities look like in 5, 50 or 500 years? Become a “Figge Future-tech” by drawing, painting, designing and constructing futuristic fashions, from architecture and transportation models to clothing concepts and more, using art materials in the studio.
